Three-year-old Destiny Diamond, who won her maiden at her second race start at Geelong this month was entered in a $60,000 race at Moonee Valley on Friday but Wilde decided to save the filly for Saturday's contest.
"We entered Destiny Diamond for the Valley and Flemington," Wilde told The Standard.
"We ended up deciding on the tougher option at Flemington. The Friday night race at the Valley was over 1200 metres while the Flemington race is over 1400 metres.
"We just thought Destiny Diamond will be better suited to the 1400 metres at this time of her campaign.
"I was quite impressed with her win at Geelong (over 1200m). She went to the line strongly.
"Destiny Diamond is a lot fitter with the Geelong win under her belt.
"Her first start was at Casterton back in July and she hit the line well in that race. We've got a bit of an opinion of her.
"I'm not sure how far she'll go in her career but we'll just have a throw at the stumps on Saturday and see how she performs before weighing up other options for her."
Jockey Joe Bowditch, who rode Destiny Diamond to her breakthrough win at Geelong has the mount on Saturday.
"Joe has a good understanding of Destiny Diamond," Wilde said.
"He rode her when she won at Geelong and he's ridden her in a couple of track gallops. Joe does a fair bit of work for us.
"Destiny Diamond has drawn barrier three. I'm expecting Joe has her travelling just off the pace which should really suit her style of racing.
"Joe's a very good judge and never appears flustered in races. I think he's an ideal rider for a young horse."
Bookmakers have installed Destiny Diamond as a $20 chance in the race at Flemington.
Queen Zyrah, a stablemate of Destiny Diamond was to also have a run in a restricted race over 1200 metres at Flemington but Wilde scratched the four-year-old as she ran at Moonee Valley on Friday.
