Rhodes, a talented middle-order batsman, blasted 60 in Creek's 22-run victory against Allansford-Panmure on Saturday.

Rhodes, who works with NAB League club Western Jets, has strong links to the south-west despite living in Werribee.

His wife Sandra is originally from Koroit and he is close friends with Creek co-coach Cam Williams from their time at Victorian Premier Cricket outfit Essendon.

"With the women's and the men's coming up over Christmas and into January and all that, it's going to be hard for him to play (a lot) because that job suits him to a tee," Williams said.

"We're not pushing him to come and play. He's signed up to us on the back of me and him playing together at premier cricket level and having a really good relationship that way.

"With his partner's family being in Koroit and with the lockdowns and that has happened over the last couple of years they're going to try and get down as much as they can."

Williams said he'd enjoyed suiting up alongside Rhodes in Saturday's Warrnambool and District Cricket Association triumph at Jetty Flat.

Rhodes, a dad of three, played one game for Creek in 2017-18 and two in 2018-19.

"We'll see if we can sneak in a game of cricket here and there," Williams said.

"The last couple of years I've been playing Vic Country so I've actually missed out on playing with him.

"Saturday was our first game together in eight years or so. We were able to put on 116 or something so it was really good to bat with him. He's a great fella and we'd be pretty lucky to get him as much or as little as we do."

Williams said Creek, which is humming along at three and one, was pleased with its form.

He said he felt like he was in good touch and praised recent efforts of Damon Cooper, Rukshan Weerasinghe, Jimmy Elford and Josh Campbell with the stick.

Williams said Jetty Flat's new and improved surface was also a point of advantage. He said it meant Creek's bowlers were learning to be resourceful on a flat wicket which would come in handy if it cracked into finals.

Russells Creek will play seventh-placed West Warrnambool at Davidson Oval on Saturday.
