He's been president and was on the board for eight years as treasurer.

The stalwart is only on his "rest year" from board duties because he has to be.

"After eight years you've got to step aside for 12 months," he said with a smile.

But he continues to put his hard work toward other parts of the sport as he's a delegate for the Western District Playing Area and the divisional umpires coordinator.

He was official umpire on Saturday as his side Lawn Red defeated Warrnambool Red 69-42 in division two at home. A bowler can play as well as umpire.

Treweek explained he ran a refresher course recently.

"We had a re-accreditation just last week. Another four or five have been re-accredited. It lasts three or four years," he said.

"At the end of the season, we'll run a course for any new people who want to take on umpiring."

He said WDPA had a strong supply of umpires.

"We're travelling pretty well compared to other regions you hear about which are struggling for officials," he said.

"When we had the Victorian championships at City Memorial last year, some of us (from Lawn Tennis) officiated up there under the guidance of the guru from Melbourne."

Treweek, who has played with Lawn Tennis for about a decade, continues to enjoy his bowls while tackling his various official duties.

He's enjoying the club atmosphere and is pleased there's interest from newcomers.

Lawn tennis has fielded five teams in weekend pennant for the past two years, up from four sides. It's highest-ranked side is in division two and it has two division five teams.

As has been noted in The Standard, Lawn Tennis has been using City Memorial's facility as well to cater for all its teams due to space restraints. Lawn Tennis only has six rinks.

"City has graciously offered space and we've had a couple of games up there on the outside rink and that's fine on the synthetic and we're just thankful that we were able to put the team up there and play," Treweek said.

In division one, Warrnambool Gold remains undefeated after a 59-46 shot win against Warrnambool Blue.

Second-ranked City Gold is in the same boat following its 69-47 victory over Terang Green.

Dunkeld is third after its 60-51 triumph over Mortlake Blue and Timboon Gold, which won a 63-60 thriller against City Red, is fourth.
