His brand new single 'Sunrise to Sunset' will be out tomorrow and was written in the middle of lockdown last year.

The bright, rich acoustic track is one for the windows down in summer, and encapsulates the feelings of long, sun-filled days along the coast.

"I had just bought a van and was wishing I could get out a travel and make plans," Gurry said.

"It's a song about chasing the sun and appreciating all those little moments you share with the people you love."

The song was recorded by multi-ARIA award-winning producer Jan Skubiszewski at Red Moon Studios.

A music video created by Michael Peters will be released in coming weeks, shot across the south-west in iconic locations like the Great Otway National Park.

It's a fitting setting, says Gurry, who draws a lot of musical inspiration from the natural landscape of the region.

"A lot of my stories I sing about are to do with the south-west," he said.

"It's definitely influenced by the people around me and where I live."

The single will be launched at The Commercial Hotel Terang on Saturday, November 27.

"It's a really creative space, the owner has turned the old pub into a brilliant live original music venue, so I'm going to be launching it there."

In June this year Gurry embarked on his first headline tour, playing across the region from Warrnambool to Port Campbell to Portarlington and between.

"It was so cool it was the first time I'd moved from playing free shows to having ticketed events; the response was really good."

The singer-songwriter is bound for Melbourne in a few weeks: "chasing the big smoke."
