The six-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Pomborneit north, dates back to the early 1900s and has been restored to retain its period features.

Ray White Rural Victoria sales executive Anthony Stevens said it was a "spectacular" property.

"When you go through the house it's very authentic in regards to still having that historic touch and feel to it," Mr Stevens said. "The gardens are spectacular too. They complement it, along with the historic stable building. It's just beautiful.

"The people I've taken through the property walk around the house and the garden and just say 'wow it's absolutely amazing'. It's one of-a-kind. It's an amazing property."

The home, was designed and built by noted Camperdown architect Michael McCabe who built the town's historic clocktower.

"The home's very authentic," Mr Stevens said. "There has been a bit of renovation but the vendors have kept to the style. You can move straight in. There's no need for any work to be done."

Mr Stevens said the property had rich volcanic soil, had an average rainfall of 700 millimeters and could comfortably carry 100 head of cattle most of the year.

"It's got a stone boundary fence, originally built in the 1800's, all the way around it which is really unique and of a good standard."

Mr Stevens said there had been a lot of interest in the property from Melbourne and across regional Victoria.

"We've had people with cattle studs who have looked at it and then there's people from Melbourne who aren't as interested in the land, as much as they are in the historic home, but it's getting a range of interested parties looking for different options," Mr Stevens said.

The property, at 50 Oppenheims Outlet Road, is for sale through Ray White Rural Victoria. It will be auctioned online Friday at 12 pm.
