Footballer Finn O'Sullivan inspired after representing Victoria at under 15 level

The Koroit midfielder felt comfortable playing for Victoria White against Victoria Blue in a one-off match at Sandringham's Trevor Barker Oval on Sunday.

O'Sullivan, a multi-talented sportsman bound for Xavier College as a year 10 boarder, said he relished the chance to play with and against some of the state's most promising players.

"It was great because I haven't done a lot of footy representative stuff," O'Sullivan said.

"With basketball there's a lot more tryouts and camps and this was kind of the first big thing for footy at this under 15 age group.

"Next year it will lead into the under 16 state team which I will hopefully make."

O'Sullivan, who will move to Melbourne in late January, hopes to join the NAB League system, with either Oakleigh Chargers or Greater Western Victoria Rebels in 2022.

He hopes his efforts for Victoria White will pique those state sides' interest.

"I loved it. I am so glad it finally went ahead. I had a heap of fun," O'Sullivan said of the under 15 match.

"I thought I played a pretty solid game. I was in the midfield the whole game.

"It was pretty hard trying to find the ball because everyone was so good and in those games you kind of have to be a bit selfish to get your name out there.

"I felt like I found the ball a fair bit. I am more of a run-and-carry type of player and I like to use my pace a bit but when you need to get your hands dirty you will."

Victoria White celebrated a five-point win.

O'Sullivan said playing a full match in November - three months after the Hampden league season finished - was challenging but "proved how fit everyone was".

"We (at Koroit) have been training for the (Let's Talk) under 23 comp so I've had a heap of ball touch," he said of his preparation.

"And down at Koroit they're doing a lot of strength work, getting our bodies stronger for next year."

O'Sullivan is in the selection frame for the Saints' third-round Let's Talk game on Friday night.
