The Nick Butters-led side posted just 101 against Port Fairy at Avery's Paddock this past Saturday but managed to dismiss the Pirates for just 97 to snatch a nailbiting victory.

While the pitch - which was described as "sticky" due to weather conditions and rain the day prior - Butters said the Eels would need to buck up their ideas with the stick.

Just two batters - star first-drop Kory Howlett and strike bowler Hank Schlaghecke - managed scores above 20 on their scorecard.

"You aren't going to win too many games with a score like that," he said.

"We got away with one on Saturday and hopefully we can get a bit more of a partnership and hopefully get a bit more than 100."

North Warrnambool will play Brierly-Christ Church at Brierly on Saturday.

The Bulls will be vying to rebound from a heavy 192-run loss to reigning premier Russells Creek this past week.
