South West Healthcare nurse unit manager Bronwyn Davis rolled up her sleeve this week and said she couldn't believe it had been just over six months since her second vaccination.

"I had it in March and my last shot was in April and I've just had my booster," Miss Davis said. "I can't believe it's been that quick. It doesn't feel like that long ago."

She said it was a relief the city had reached the 95 per cent milestone.

"It's so great," Miss Davis said. "It just makes you feel so much safer as a healthcare worker and living in Warrnambool, you get a lot of people coming from across the state so it makes you feel a bit safer." Miss Davis said.

SWH COVID co-ordinator Sue Anderton said boosters were now available for anyone who had their second COVID-19 vaccination more than six months ago and appointments at the Warrnambool Vaccination Centre could be booked by calling the coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398.

Camperdown's Merindah Lodge residents have had their boosters and booster jabs are now being offered to eligible frontline workers.

SWH chief executive officer Craig Fraser also encouraged those who were due for a booster vaccination to get one as soon as possible ahead of the busy tourist season.

"Moving into summer will no doubt result in more people entering our region which is a great thing for our businesses," Mr Fraser said. "Having our communities so highly vaccinated will assist in keeping cases to a minimum."
