Curtis Finch, 14, and Isaac Brian, 13, played each other in Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club's mixed junior pennant on Saturday morning.
The talented youngsters who play top-grade had been itching to get on the court after a long stint of training.
"It was good to get out after such a long break and finally play, I had been looking forward to it for a while," Curtis said.
"It's good to be back on the court playing a fun sport, you get see some of your mates again," Isaac added.

The pair played some cracking rallies as Isaac secured a 6-1 victory.
They both also played another singles match and one doubles match. They're in a pool of eight players.
The young guns have worked hard to rise up the ranks.
Curtis, who got involved in pennant about three years ago, started in division four and reached division one last summer.
Issac, who has been playing pennant for four years, also cracked into the top division last summer.
Both boys keep a keen eye on the professional tour and Isaac enjoys watching German player Alexander Zverev.
Curtis is a fan of Aussie Nick Kyrgios.
"He's good entertainment," he said.
The boys have been diligently training while competition has been off limits in recent months.
Isaac does coaching four times a week between Beachside Tennis Academy and Supergrasse Tennis Complex.
Curtis takes lessons at Warrnambool Indoor Tennis Centre twice a week.
"I wasn't playing for two to three months before we got back," he said of the pandemic-interrupted year.
They both relished the chance to play on grass on Saturday.
As Isaac said "you can mix up your game a bit more".
Curtis added "you can use more spin to make it harder (for your opponent) and can dive for shots and won't get hurt".
There are about 60 youngsters involved in WLTC's junior pennant.
The club also has adult A grade and B grade on Mondays from 6.30pm, Morton Cup is starting on Thursday at 6pm and there's also Friday night social tennis at 6pm.
