Detective Senior Constable Jessica Johnston, of the Colac police crime investigation unit, said that at about 9.45am on Monday, September 27, the man entered the business premises of Sinnotts Accountants in Hesse Street, Colac.
"The male has gained access to the premises by walking through an open rear door that was accessible from the back laneway between Hesse and Bromfield streets," she said.
"This entrance is not a public entrance and is only used by staff. Once inside the premises, the male has been seen loitering in the kitchen area of the business before being confronted by staff and leaving.
"Police are seeking community assistance to identifying the male depicted in the released images as they believe he may be in a position to further assist police with our enquiries."
Detective Senior Constable Johnston said the man was described as Caucasian in appearance, with a slim build, about 160 to 165cm tall, he is missing a significant portion of his front teeth, had on a tartan patterned hooded jacket, black jumper, salmon coloured tracksuit pants, white trainers, dark sunglasses and he was carrying a black backpack.
