White's first season at Hampden league club South Warrnambool saw him win the competition's under 16 goal-kicking award with 50 majors at an average of 3.8.
His biggest haul was 14 goals against Camperdown.
White, 16, also swims up to three times a week at Warrnambool Swimming Club, which has used the ocean to train while pools were off limits due to COVID-19 restrictions.
White, who often stays in Warrnambool to break up the travel, said it was worthwhile and joining South Warrnambool was the logical step "as all my sport is over here".
"I usually swim mornings and nights as well," he said.
"We've been out in the ocean quite a few times a week which has been good.
"I like swimming in the ocean more than the pool."
White, who goes to Timboon P-12, said he was pleased with his output for the Roosters, who made the under 16 grand final, after spending 2020 on the sidelines due to the pandemic.
"I was playing in the Warrnambool and District league for Timboon and didn't get to play any games," he said.
"I only had a couple of trainings."
Hamilton Kangaroos' Jack Sobey said working on his leading patterns was crucial to winning the under 14 goal-kicking award.
The Hamilton and Alexandra College student, who also plays basketball, kicked 30 goals from 12 games.
His efforts included two bags of nine.
"It is good to lead into open space," Sobey said.
"I improved my leading."
Sobey said former senior coach Matt Dunn and under 14 coach Steve Millard had helped him finetune his skills.
He said Dunn would take over the under 14 role next season.
Sobey is eager to build on his form and help the Roos to a premiership.
They were undefeated in 2021 before falling to South Warrnambool in a cut-throat semi-final after the final series was reduced due to lockdown restrictions.
Another Hamilton Kangaroo in Ben Starkie won the under 18.5 goal-kicking with 35.
He was a model of consistency with a season-high six goals against Camperdown and three five-goal hauls.
Josh Folkes kicked 41 goals in the reserves to win its goal-kicking award. He slotted 11 majors against North Warrnambool Eagles and eight against Camperdown in a purple patch in the latter stages of the season.
Camperdown's Sam Gordon took out the senior goal-kicking award with 57 majors. His best was 10 against Port Fairy and he also had a nine-goal haul and kicked seven on three ocassions.
