Support for licensed bars, cafes, hotels and clubs across regional Victoria will continue in recognition of capacity and density quotas, with Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund payments to be made across the state between September 17-30.
About 2,300 eligible venues regional areas are set to benefit.
It comes as many south-west businesses decided to keep their doors shut, despite being allowed to open after regional Victoria was released from its latest state-wide coronavirus lockdown.
For regional businesses outside these areas, including gyms, hair and nail salons, tourism and events-related venues, automatic payments under the Business Costs Assistance Program will also continue for the next two weeks.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The announcement comes as a welcome relief to some Warrnambool gym owners, who feared operating with just 10 members inside and 20 outside was not viable without government support.
The full list of ANZSIC codes for the BCAP in regional Victoria will be available on the Business Victoria website from Friday.
Victorian Minister for Small Business Jaala Pulford said the grants would help keep businesses open until vaccination rates increased.
"Whether it's in Ballarat or Bairnsdale, those businesses most affected by restrictions will continue to be supported as we move towards levels of vaccination that will allow us to re-open the economy - and stay open," she said.
