The two Hampden league sides best positioned to usurp six-time reigning premier Koroit, which is allowing a paltry 36 points against per game, are stingy too.
Second-placed North Warrnambool Eagles is conceding just 55 points a game on average.

Third-ranked South Warrnambool is even better, letting through an average of 47 points a match.
The two teams clash at Friendly Societies' Park on Saturday in a round 11 clash full of intrigue.
Offensively the Eagles are the greater threat.
The Adam Dowie-coached side averages 92 points for while the Mat Battistello-led Roosters get 77 points through the sticks each week.
Koroit coach Chris McLaren, whose side is kicking roughly 120 points a game, said North was a well-rounded outfit.
"There is no doubt North are a really good kicking side and can keep the ball off you for long periods of time and with new additions into the forward line they have the ability to roll in and dump it in a bit more," he said.
"North get back and help their defence as well.
"It's not uncommon to see a few of their forwards in their back half getting the ball off you."
McLaren believes the Roosters have the midfield depth to worry opponents.
"South probably don't have the multiple tall targets from an outsider's (perspective)," he said.
"South are a high-possession side. They try and keep the ball off you, and are similar to North in that regard.
"They have some good depth in the middle of the ground. Looking at some of their footage, they tend to hold their width really well.
"They switch the ball and get it to the other side of the ground to use their wingers.
"Having a (former) AFL player (in Ricky Henderson) playing on one of your wings is a pretty big advantage."
McLaren said it was important teams utilised their assets.
"All teams tend to defend a bit differently," he said.
"You play to your strengths whether you've got one-on-one defenders who win battles or drop-off defenders or a little bit of both.
"I think for most teams it's team defence and everyone is helping get the ball back, you're not just relying on defenders to get it."
