Walsh explained illness had kept McKenzie, a midfielder and half-back, out for the first half of the Warrnambool and District league season.
The former Terang Mortlake player returned through the reserves on Saturday and was named best for the Power.
Walsh described his performance as dominant and said he would be up for senior selection after the bye.

The Power will otherwise be hoping midfielder Luke Justin is right for the Dogs clash.
He sustained a shoulder injury during the senior side's 18.13 (121) to 5.4 (34) win against the Warriors.
Walsh threw his magnets around to expose some of his players to different positions on Saturday.
Forward Ryley Hutchins got a run through the middle and full-back Jake Richardson went into the ruck.
Walsh said the Power would look to get off to a good start against Dennington after a slow start against the Warriors.
"Old Collegians to their credit, they started a lot better than us with their intent and attack on the footy, they caught us napping which was a bit disappointing from our end but credit to the opposition," he said.
"It took us until after half-time to really click into gear."
Walsh said the Power would have a week off the track with players encouraged to do their own fitness.
