2021 Big V season on hold due to statewide coronavirus lockdown

The Seahawks, who have a 5-6 win-loss record and have played one less game than the rest of their rivals, were to host Coburg Giants at the Arc on Saturday night.

They are now in limbo due to the state government's snap seven-day coronavirus lockdown.

The circuit-breaker, designed to stop a cluster of cases growing, is due to finish on Thursday night at midnight.

An away double-header in Melbourne next weekend is the Seahawks' next scheduled assignment.

Gynes said he was unsure whether the game against Coburg would be rescheduled.

"I think they will weigh things up after the week, whether they can postpone the game and readjust the schedule or potentially put a line through that round," he said.

Warrnambool, with contributions from its older players and younger cohort, had started to find its rhythm.

"I feel like we've been building since the season started and we're starting to define our identity in terms of how we like to play and what we need to do to be competitive," he said.

"But at the end of the day we always knew it was going to be a chance that the season might be halted at stages. We are realistic about that and at the end of the day it's the bigger picture."
