A B-double milk tanker rolled on Penshurst-Warrnambool Road at Warrong just after 9pm on Wednesday.

The truck was travelling south.

The road was closed for the night, reopening in a limited capacity at 8.30am on Thursday before fully about 9.30am.

Port Fairy police Sergeant David Walkley said the B-double landed on its side and milk was transferred to a second truck before the tanker was removed by heavy haulage.

"It took a number of hours to rehabilitate the scene and for the milk to be transferred over," he said.

"There was damage to the road surface so VicRoads also attended."

Vehicles were diverted down Woolsthorpe-Heywood Road.

Sergeant Walkley said there was no spillage on the road.

He said investigations into the accident were ongoing.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics were called to a report of a truck accident just after 9.10pm.

"Paramedics treated a man believed to be in his 60s for upper body injuries," she said.

"He was taken to Warrnambool Base Hospital in a stable condition."

A witness said there were always accidents on that stretch of road, particularly near the Woolsthorpe-Heywood Road and Warrnambool-Penshurst Road intersection.

"There was another big crash down there about a month ago involving two trucks, one that went through a fence and the other that ended up on the wrong side of the road," he told The Standard.

"There are always accidents there, we've nearly been cleaned up a few times. It's usually always people travelling from the direction of Woolsthorpe."

The man said it was only a matter of time before someone was killed.

"I've lived here 20 years and there's no doubt about that," he said.

"I don't think people realise there's a corner there when they're coming from Woolsthorpe. We've had near-misses ourselves with people pulling out in front of us."

Wednesday's crash comes after a man died following a fiery three-truck crash east of Skipton last week.

Crews were called to the scene on the Glenelg Highway at Carranballac just before 5pm on May 13.

Three grain trucks were involved in the collision resulting in a large spill.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed one driver, a man in his 30s, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital by air ambulance in a stable condition with upper body injuries, while the second driver, a man in his 40s, was taken by road ambulance to Ballarat in a stable condition with minor injuries.

The deceased man is yet to be formally identified, and the exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined.

In a separate incident less than an hour later, two Western Star trucks collided in Drumborg, resulting in a large spill of woodchips.
