AquaZone was identified in the council's new four-year plan as one of a number of key facilities it would be looking at and Cr Ben Blain told a recent meeting that an overhaul for AquaZone was on the agenda.
"Some of the big exciting projects that hopefully we can get to come to fruition over the next four years is the possibility of a new bigger better art gallery, an overhaul for AquaZone, getting Flagstaff Hill to be a better attraction again and try and do something with our animal shelter," he told this month's public meeting.
During the election campaign, he unveiled his vision to upgrade AquaZone to a state-of-the-art facility with waterslides, a diving board and spa.
But just whether any of Cr Blain's ideas form part of any review into the facility are yet to be decided on.
No timeline for any strategy or review set with the four-year council plan are expected to be adopted until June.
Cr Blain said the council plan, which had been worked on with the community, set out what the council wanted to achieve in the next four years.
"It builds on what 2040 is," he said.
Cr Blain also questioned whether parts of the 2040 plan needed to be reviewed in light of the pandemic.
"I do believe thinking has shifted in the community on certain aspects of that plan. Maybe it's something we should be looking at over the next four years," he said.
He asked the community to have a look at the plan so they could let the council know if it "got it right".
"Please take the time, have a look at our vision and see if it's the vision you want to see for our city."
Cr Max Taylor said the council had one of the best and most livable cities in the world.
He also said the city's outdoor pool was 60 years old and needed money spent on it.
