The star Creek forward kicked 11 goals up to three-quarter-time but played no part in the final quarter of the 22.14 (146) to 7.4 (46) win over Dennington after rolling his ankle in the latter stages of the third term.
Centre half-back Sam Wilson also didn't play out the match due to calf tightness.
Coach Peter Timms said Chatfield, who is leading the Warrnambool and District league's goal kicking tally with 28, was doubtful to play against the Tigers next weekend but expects Wilson to be right to go.

Creek also expect Dylan Burns, Darcy Wraight (unavailable) and Caleb Templeton (hamstring) to return to the senior side next Saturday.
Timms said he was pleased with how a number of his players adjusted to new roles following the injuries.
Dennington also didn't escape unscathed with Nyle Gurry injuring his wrist in the last quarter.
Coach Ben Thornton said the extent of Gurry's injury would be confirmed in the next few days.
The Dogs were convincingly beaten up until three-quarter-time with only two goals on the board but they slammed on five goals to two after the last break.

Thornton said his young side would take plenty of confidence from the strong last quarter.
"It is a bit of confident boost to know when we are down and out we still stuck to the way we want to play," he said.
"We have just got to be consistently doing it and doing it from the start as we came out flat and they got a jump on us.
"It was great to show character towards the end and to hold on when the score was what it was and not to give up and the boys got a few goals and had a bit of fun celebrating guys kicking goals for the first time."
