The small forward booted five goals which proved crucial in the Cats' 8.13 (61) to 7.12 (54) victory against South Rovers at Allansford on Saturday.
Coach Ben Price explained Bellman, a former junior, hadn't played footy for the past six years and had been playing soccer.

"He showed up at pre-season and wanted to have a game of footy," he said.
Price said Bellman played the perfect game in his role as a pressure forward on Saturday. He was rewarded with being named best on ground for his team.
Otherwise, Price said it was a "really hard-fought win, it could have been anyone's game".
He felt the Cats used the ball effectively and linked up well from the half-back line.
It was Allansford's first win of the season after losses to Kolora-Noorat and Nirranda.
Price said the Cats approached the match as a game they needed to win and would take that mindset into their home clash against Timboon Demons in round four.
Price added Bradley Edge rolled his ankle but should be right for Saturday.
