Warrnambool Surf Lifesaving Club's Mia Cook will get her first chance to race the nation's best at The Aussies from April 16 to 24 on the Sunshine Coast.
The teenager will be contesting the board race, surf swim and ironwoman event at the championships, which is taking place at at Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba lifesaving clubs.
Cook is looking forward to the new challenge and will be well supported on the Sunshine Coast by a small but experienced senior Warrnambool team.

She is especially excited for the board race, having taken out the under 15 state title in this event.
"I'm really excited to test myself in Queensland's challenging conditions against the best athletes in the country," She said.
"We train in some tough conditions at home in Warrnambool so I'm hoping this has prepared me well for the Queensland surf conditions."
Fifteen athletes from the club will compete at the championships on the Sunshine Coast.
Peter Day, Rodney, Michael and Mark Owen (masters), Jane McMeel, Sophie Thomas, Emma Ragg, Harry McNamara, Conor Cook, Todd Lamb, Harvey Moncrieff, Isaac Owen, Darcy Bridgwater (seniors) and Mia Cook (youth) are all competing.
The Aussies attracts members from Australia's 315 Surf Clubs who come together to compete in more than 480 beach and ocean events.
