The Russells Creek captain's 51-wicket haul has equalled Warrnambool and District Cricket Association records in the MyCricket era.
Petherick's two-wicket grab in his side's premiership triumph over Woodford on Sunday was enough to draw level with Dennington legend Terry Beks, who reached the feat in 2002-03 and former Wesley-CBC bowler Thomas Hill, who did in 2006-07.
Petherick clocked an average of 9.88, claimed five wickets or more five times and boasted an economy rate of just 2.65 en route to the achievement.
It sort of gave me a will to train harder and play harder.

The first-year skipper said his brother, Jarrod, pushed him to improve.
Jarrod, who plays at Warrnambool and District Cricket Association rival Merrivale, snared a career-best 32 wickets and started the season in blistering form.
"I feel like I can thank my brother (for the season I've had)," Petherick said.
"He really put the pressure on at the start of the season when he was taking wickets for fun.
"I was never going to let him beat me. It sort of gave me a will to train harder and play harder and it's resulted in 51 wickets."
He said while the accolade was a nice touch, the premiership was the priority.
"It's a great, but it means nothing if you don't get a premiership," he said.
"That was the main thing for us."
Creek's premiership on Sunday was the club's third division one flag in four seasons.
Petherick, three-wicket hero Jimmy Elford, Cameron Williams, Blake Evans, Shashan Silva, Joe Kenna and Rukshan Weerasinghe have featured in all three, while Damon Cooper has played in two.
Tyler Schafer, Tim Ryan, Shiv Kumara and Jacob Lacy, meanwhile, are one-time winners.
