A nearby resident noticed a fox had become road kill on the Wangoom Road sometime early last week, but a few days later when line markings were put on the newly finished roadworks between Aberline and Horne roads, the white line went right over the top.
"It was very lazy not to scrape the fox off the road," resident Phil Emeny said.
"It was there for a few days. It's a shame they did something like that."
He said he joked about putting crime scene lines around the dead animal, but after posting the photo online the animal was removed. The section of road has just undergone a $1.29 million upgrade to widen the shoulder on the road.
