Results haven't fallen for the Lakers, but captain Simon Richardson says belief is high ahead of their final-round clash against second-bottom Simpson on Saturday.
Richardson, a first-year skipper, said his men had improved leaps and bounds since he first took on the job.
"We're feeling pretty confident to be honest. We've come a long way since the start of the season," he said.
"Some of our young blokes have improved each week and they're only getting better.
"The guys are right up and about and they're keen to finish with a win. It's always a positive when they have that sort of attitude."

Richardson said he and coach Stephen Fischer had deliberately batted down the order in a bid to blood young players.
He called for more mental fortitude with the bat but felt his players were on the right track.
"We can bowl, that's no drama," Richardson said.
"Our fielding has been up there again. Our batting has let us down a bit, but we know we can do it.
"We made nearly 200 against Noorat. It's definitely there for us."
