Alexander Richardson, 21, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court via a video-link from prison.
He will be eligible for parole after two years and three months.
On Friday, Richardson pleaded guilty to more driving-related offences, including speeding, driving while disqualified and failing an oral fluid test.
The court heard that between September 2019 and March 2020, Richardson was repeatedly caught driving without a licence, with methamphetamine in his system and speeding.
On one occasion he was clocked at 154km/h in a signed 100km/h zone.
The court heard the offences pre-dated the matters Richardson was already in jail for.
Magistrate Mark Stratmann imposed a six-month jail sentence, to be served concurrently with Richardson's current prison term, and fined him $3000.
He said the man had already spent a considerable amount of time in custody - 253 days.
The magistrate accepted Richardson suffered an acquired brain injury following a motorbike accident some years ago, and that at the time of the offending was addicted to methamphetamine.
He said the man was a young offender whose conduct was condemned by the court.
"You placed yourself and other road users at risk of serious injury by dong what you were doing," Mr Stratmann said.
"These are very serious charges."
