
Heytesbury's Milly Illingworth kicked off her Western Victoria Girls Shield in style with a century in the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association's opening game win at Hamilton on Monday.
The 15-year-old scored 101 in the under 18 side's first win of the competition over Colac.
Illingworth battled warm conditions as she cruised to her century. The under 18's second game against Hamilton ended in a five-wicket victory.
Illingworth was dismissed for 26 in the second game. Fellow opener Alana Bellman was run out for 31 as the side chased down the total of 100 in the final over.
The under 16s won both their games against Wimmera and Colac. in the opening game Anabelle Glossop scored an unbeaten half-century and took two wickets in the nine-wicket victory.

Hannah Rooke was the star in the second match with four wickets and 22 runs. Grace Schrama also made 39 in the 89-run victory.
The under 14 Gold side has one win and one defeat after the first day while Warrnambool Blue opened its account with two defeats.
Gold defeated Colac by 23 runs and were defeated by Sunraysia Gold. Blue were beaten by Hamilton by 109 runs and by 10 wickets to Ballarat.
