The Tuesday pennant team faces Western District Bowls Division challenger Warrnambool Gold in round eight.
It comes after Timboon Maroon fell to Koroit Orange last round.
All three teams have a 5-2 win-loss records.
Timboon Maroon player Barry Bowen said the team wanted to respond after its hiccup against Koroit Orange.
"We were going all right. I think we were 11 points in front (on the ladder) and the loss last last week didn't help things," he said.
"Warrnambool Gold are in third position so we're going to have another hard game this week."
Bowen said Timboon Maroon, which has a mixture of men and women in its division one side, had the attributes to bounce back.
"Having more bowls in the head is what we need to do and we've managed to do that except for last week," he said.
"A few of us were off at the same time. You can cover one person but when a couple are having a bad day it makes it harder for everyone."
He said consistency would help Timboon Maroon's cause against Warrnambool Gold as would playing on its home green.
"If the first, second and thirds can have their bowls around about then it will be a little of an easier ride for the skippers," Bowen said.
