Lisa said the Panthers had a great group of women with a variety of skills. She said there were numerous members of the team who were playing cricket for the first time.
She encouraged new players to come to training at Brauer College on Thursdays from 6pm.
"If you just wanted to practice with us that would be fine but if you wanted to play a game, then you can come and play with us," she said.
"If you've got any sort of skills, they're our sort of skills because we can turn (someone new) into a really good player just with some practice."
Lisa said even if players wanted to play one or two matches they were welcome.
The all-rounder started playing cricket with St Andrew's women's team in the Hamilton District Cricket Association two years ago.
She got involved in the WDCA women's practice sessions last summer after moving to Warrnambool with her husband David Heeps - a West Warrnambool division one men's cricketer.
Lisa said David was set to become the women's team manager.
She said they got married earlier this year during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lisa is keen to pass on the cricket knowledge she's gained so far.
Her hope is "every year more teams are added and there will be more women out there who want to play" in the new competition.
Lisa heaped praise on the West Warrnambool Cricket Club for warmly welcoming and supporting the women's side.
