Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace, saddles up eight runners at the traditional last meeting for the spring carnival.
The powerful training combination won the Zipping Classic with Southern France and Azuro was successful in the Sandown Cup at the corresponding meeting last year.
This year they have Etah James contesting the Sandown Cup and Lord Belvedere lines up in the Zipping Classic.
Champion jockey Glen Boss rides Etah James while Ben Melham is aboard Lord Belvedere.
"We've got a couple of nice chances to wind up the carnival," Maher told The Standard.

"Lord Belvedere never got clear galloping room last time. We took Lord Belvedere to Sandown for a gallop on Tuesday and he impressed me with his work. Barrier two is not ideal but it's not a big field.
"Etah James also went over for a gallop on Tuesday. She worked well. She's a dour two miler and I think the Sandown Cup will really suit her.
"Bossy won the Sydney Cup on Etah James and he rode her in work on Tuesday. He was very happy with her trackwork."
The Art Of Flying, Junipal, Captain Canuck, Fascino West Wind and The Closer are the other runners for the Maher-Eustace stable.
Warrnambool trainers Symon Wilde and Maddi Raymond will also saddle up runners.
Allibor will try and break his maiden status for Wilde in the $250,000 Sandown Guineas while Pacodali runs for Raymond in the Eclipse Stakes.
