Director of Junior Activities Clint Joseph said the nippers program would be run over two separate Sunday sessions during December to allow for adequate distancing.
Numbers will be capped at last year's age group totals and the sessions will involve eight groups of 10. Under 8s will also commence but also subject to a cap.
Nippers are required to undertake a preliminary swim evaluation in a pool by a qualified swim teacher ahead of the season.
An evaluation day will be held at Aquazone on Saturday, November 21 if some members are unable to access a qualified swim teacher.

The club's board stocks also got a handy boost ahead of a new summer season thanks to some generous sponsors.
Joseph thanked a number of key supporters for helping with the acquisition of six new boards.
"Thank you to our youth board area sponsor Clive Chislett and nipper board area sponsors the Watson family from The Pavilion and the Titmus Family from Sitec Engineering for their support," he said.
"Clive's support allows our middle-aged youth competitors to continue what they love doing and retention of numbers in our club.
"The Watson and Titmus families donation is in addition to their ongoing support through which they attend patrols, assists with water safety competition training and our expanding nipper program.
"These generous donations highlight the important of the voluntary, not-for-profit work the Warrnambool Surf Lifesaving Club undertakes."
