West Warrnambool will make the trip to Victoria Park to take on the Saints in a one-day game.
Both teams are coming off round one losses, the Panthers to the Northern Raiders and Koroit to Merrivale at Victoria Park.
A lack of runs hurt Koroit, with the Tigers bowling the Saints out in the 43rd over for 90.
Patrick Sinnott was the mainstay of the innings, making 26, with valuable supporting roles from Kurt Howard (22) in the middle order and Seamus Brady (10 not out) at the end giving the Saints something to bowl at.
Defending 90 from 45 overs was always going to be a difficult task, but it was one the very capable Koroit bowling attack took on and almost pulled off.
The game went into its second last over with eight Merrivale wickets falling, as the Tigers managed to accumulate the 91 runs needed to get the win.
In a strong effort with the ball from Koroit, Bailen McDonald was the most successful, finishing with 2-10 from his eight overs.
Koroit's opening division three game for the season was played last Sunday against Russells Creek White at Victoria Park.
There were plenty of runs on offer, with the visitors batting first and making 7-216 from their 40 overs.
The bowling highlight for Koroit came from debutant Brian Allen who took 3-44 in a memorable first game for the club.
It was another player on debut for Koroit that was the star with the bat.
Damian Jones smashed 86 from 45 balls to help the Saints post a very respectable 190.
The season has also begun for the Koroit junior teams.
In round one in the under 13s last Saturday morning, the Saints played Port Fairy at Victoria Park.
It was a win to the home team, with a score of 5/90, while the Pirates managed 5/72.
Cohen Laidlaw top scored for the Saints with 20, while Lachie McCosh (19) also had a good day with the bat.
Mitch McCosh, Deegan Hunter and Cruz Perry were among the wicket takers.
The under 15s also started the season with success, defeating Allansford-Panmure last Friday night at Victoria Park.
The day started with some good news, with Will Dobson being named as the team captain for the season.
Bowling first, Koroit had the visitors 6/79 at the close of their innings.
It was an impressive effort with the ball for the Saints, with Will Morrison leading the pack with 2/13.
The Saints then set about their task with the bat, with the loss of some early wickets throwing up a challenge.
But hard-hitting knocks from Joe Morrison (33) and Strahan Robinson (16) was the shot in the arm the innings needed. Koroit ended with 4/87, enough to give them a strong start to the season.
The under 17s lost their first game of the season to Dennington and then played a tie on Tuesday in round two against Port Fairy, with both teams making 6/99.
