Victoria Police Arson Squad members are continuing investigations into a fatal house fire at Rosebrook on Friday night.
A body was located in the remains of the dwelling but has not been identity.
DNA tests will be conducted to determine the identity of the deceased person.
Police say the fire was believed to have started in a living area and quickly spread.
It is being described as a particularly intense blaze.
Saturday, 2.30pm: A body has been found in a Rosebrook house destroyed by fire on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to the Lydiard Street home about 9pm after reports of smoke issuing from the property.
Following a search of the property on Saturday, the body was located.
The deceased is yet to be formally identified and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
The cause of the fire is being investigated but is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.

Earlier 10.50am: A house fire completely destroyed a Rosebrook home on Friday night.
Seven Country Fire Authority tankers responded to the incident just after 9pm on Friday.
Commander Paul Turner said CFA was called to a house fire in Lydiard Street, Rosebrook and the blue stone house measuring approximately 40 by 25 metres was fully alight when crews arrived.
Tankers from Kirkstall, Koroit, Port Fairy, St Helens, Warrnambool, Toolong and Yambuk responded, along with a Warrnambool Hazmat vehicle, Port Fairy pumper and Yambuk Big Fill and other support vehicles.
Crews used water from a nearby river to bring the fire under control just after midnight but the house was completely destroyed.
CFA was supported at the incident by Fire Rescue Victoria, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and SES.
A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesman said investigations are ongoing.
"An FRV Pumper and an Aerial Platform from Warrnambool Fire Station attended a house fire in Rosebrook at approximately 9pm last night in support of CFA crews," the spokesman said.
"FRV's specialist Fire Investigation Unit is analysing the scene this morning, and investigations are currently ongoing."
Warrnambool police confirmed on Saturday morning that the Crime Investigation Unit and the Crime Scene Investigators were on the scene awaiting the arrival of an Arson Squad from Melbourne.
The investigations are ongoing.
