The Simpson-based farmer, who has been unveiled as the Lakers' new captain on Saturday, spends at least two hours in the car travelling to training and games each week.
A love for the club and a long-standing involvement - he's been involved "since I had my license" - were catalyst in his decision to take the reins from Steven Fischer.

"I think Steve wanted to just focus on his cricket a bit and the club approached me," Richardson said.
"It's something I've wanted to have a go at. I haven't captained a side since (juniors). "I've been one of the senior blokes for a while. Whether it's coaching the young kids coming through or just giving a few pointers I think its right up my alley."
The spinner, a father-of-three, knocked back offers elsewhere to remain at Camperdown.
He said the club was well-positioned for success.
"We've got some good senior players but we also have a very young side. I think we'd have been the youngest in the competition last year," Richardson said.
Camperdown president John Cheslett said the club was delighted to appoint Richardson as captain.
"We're really chuffed that after a long time involved with the club, Simon has made himself available to be captain," he said.
"We've had captains and coaches come and go and we're delighted Simon is finally in the role.
"We're a family club and we're delighted to have him on board. His wife Rachel and kids are a great family."
Cheslett said Richardson was a well-deserving candidate for the role.
Camperdown fell to Pomborneit in this past season's grand final.
