In Warrnambool it was 0.8 at 6am and felt like -2.8, Westmere got down to -1.1 and at 6.30am in Hamilton it was just 1.1 and felt like -3.7.
But, after a cool start, today across the south-west will be sunny.
Light winds will become south-easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the evening then become even light in the late evening.
Warrnambool is expecting a top of 15 degrees, Hamilton 17, Colac 15, Ararat 16, Casterton 18, Mortlake 16, Heywood 17, Portland 14, Port Fairy 14, Terang 16 and Camperdown 15.
A high pressure system centred over western Bass Strait extends a ridge over Victoria.
The ridge and associated high pressure system will continue moving slowly east, moving over eastern Victoria by Monday night.
A low pressure trough across Western Australia will extend across South Australia on Monday and approach western Victoria later on Tuesday.
This trough will cross the State on Wednesday ahead of a cold front which will enter far south-western Victoria on Wednesday night.
The front will cross the rest of southern Victoria early on Thursday as another high pressure system rapidly develops over the state.
The high will move over the NSW coast by Thursday night and establishing a warmer northerly airstream across Victoria.
For the week ahead - Warrnambool on Tuesday is expecting a mostly cloud day with a top of 19 degrees, Wednesday scattered showers 17, Thursday partly cloudy 17, Friday sunny 24, Saturday scattered showers 23, Sunday rain 13 and Monday showers 13.
