Thieves have siphoned 400 litres of diesel from a tipper truck in Colac at the weekend.

A Colac police spokesperson said thieves targeted a Mercedes Benz Tipper Truck parked near the South West Primary School between September 16 and 17.
Two 12 volt batteries were stolen from the truck and about 400 litres of diesel was siphoned from the vehicle.

In other news, a 42-year-old Warrnambool motorist allegedly tested positive to cannabis and methamphetamine at the weekend.
Colac Highway Patrol responded to multiple reports from 000 on Friday relating to a vehicle travelling on the Princes Highway with no headlights on.
At 8.30pm the vehicle was located in the Pirron Yallock area and observed travelling on the highway with only hazard lights flashing.
No other forms of lighting were functional on the vehicle.
The male driver told police he was "simply trying to get home".
A roadside drug test was conducted which indicated the presence of cannabis and methamphetamine in the driver's oral fluid.
The driver is expected to be charged with drug driving and various roadworthy offences.
A major defect notice was issued prohibiting further use of the vehicle and the driver was forced to make other arrangements to return home.
