Activations coordinator Kate Wake said the Big Bag of Awesome Things was a way for the Village to connect with its members and the wider region.
"This is the third school holiday program that we won't be able to deliver," she said. "It's really disappointing for us and we've had lots of members who have missed coming in and doing our program.
"We decided we needed to do something for our members to receive some value and help parents and children get through lockdown."
I wanted people to know we hadn't forgotten them and increase the awareness around Flaggy.
- Kate Wake
Inside the Big Bag of Awesome Things, five activities and two recipes with full instructions and links to videos will keep plenty of children occupied throughout the school holidays.
"My favourite activity is the fragrant lavender pouch," Ms Wake said. "It's a really easy non-sewing pouch to make and children can decorate it any way they like and fill it with lavender.
"We've put a lot of extra bits and pieces in the bags so kids will get their instructions but they can let their imagination run wild."
Ms Wake has already received a positive response from members with volunteers and staff making more bags to keep up with demand.
For members of Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village, the Big Bag of Awesome Things is free and for non-members they are $15.
