A liquor licence has been granted for 108 Commercial Road to operate as a food and drinks premise.
The site has been vacant for a number of years and prior to that was home to the Teddy Bear Cafe.
While the proprietor/operator wishes to remain unnamed for now, the business will be known as Stonefield Lane.
The business will be a wine bar and cafe and will have a small-scale distillery on site.
it is expected to open for business in mid 2021.
The opening was originally aimed for this summer but the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed that timeline back.
Myers Planning Group in Warrnambool has been working through the permit process for the business owner.
Director Steve Myers said the business ticked all the right boxes.
"The proposal has received no objections and supports the role and function of the Koroit commercial centre as a place for cultural, social, entertainment and enjoyment," Mr Myers said.
"The proposal is a positive sign for investment in Koroit and signals interest in Koroit's burgeoning hospitality and entertainment sector."
