Brauer College principal Jane Boyle said in an email to the school community the school did not need to take action such as closing due to the time frame since the individual was last at the school.
"I would like to reassure that we took immediate action as soon as we became aware of the situation and sought advice from the Department of Education and Training (DET)," she said.
"DET has advised no action is required and our school does not need to close at this stage."
Ms Boyle said the school became aware of the case late Sunday and confirmed to The Standard that it was linked to Holcim's Tarrone Lane quarry site, where two workers have tested positive to COVID-19.
All 12 employees and three contractors at the site have been directed to be tested for coronavirus and ordered to quarantine for 14 days until they receive their results.
All regional schools including Brauer College returned to remote learning under stage three restrictions two weeks ago, with Brauer holding a pupil free day on August 5 and recommencing learning on August 6.
All school campuses remain open for vulnerable children and the children of permitted workers, while special development school students remain learning on-site in regional Victorian areas.
