Watching his home neighbourhood grow, particularly with conveyancing work, farm succession plans and wills, he's now seen an opportunity to do just that on Port Fairy's main street.
SWD Legal will open its second south-west office in coming weeks on Sackville Street, paving the way for up to three new jobs in the long-term.
Principal Mr Tweedly said staff would travel between Warrnambool and the new office to improve access to solicitors and conveyancing clerks for Port Fairy, Koroit, Hamilton and even Portland residents.
"The time is right to have permanent office for all of our staff to be at over here," he said.
"It is an expansion of our business and catering for the community.
"We have realised the town has had substantial growth."
He said population growth in nearby Koroit had also led to an increase in conveyancing work.
The business office will allow the business to boost its staff of seven, Mr Tweedly said, and the downtime of the previous coronavirus lockdown meant staff could prepare for the move.
"Everyone has been able to help make the move," he said.
"We will hopefully down the track be able to take on some more solicitors and we have had one new staff member come on in the admin finance area."
The legal practice will be the second in the town following Taits Legal on Bank Street.
SWD Legal started as a standalone practice in Warrnambool in 2017.
Mr Tweedly said his family, including wife Adele Brown and their three children, had lived in Port Fairy since 2014 and would also enjoy the practicalities of having a nearby office.
"We are entrenched in the community as a family and it is another family business here," he said.
