Detective Sergeant Elissa Smith, of the Warrnambool police divisional tasking unit, said a warrant was executed at an Old Peterborough Road property at Peterborough on Wednesday morning.
Plain clothes and uniform police officers found 200 grams of cannabis worth about $1500 wholesale.
The 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with trafficking and possession of cannabis and committing offences while on bail for assault-related charges.
Michael Parore, 36, of Old Peterborough Road, made an unsuccessfully self-represented bail application in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court late on Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody until November 9 after a magistrate found Mr Parore was an unacceptable risk of further offending.
