Justin Craig, 25, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday to intentionally damaging property and other offences.
Lawyer Jess Dean said her client had served 65 days in custody on remand and was taking medication for his mental illness.
She said that at the time of the offending, Mr Craig's mental health was "significantly deteriorating".
The man was jailed for the time he spent in custody.
The court heard on June 6, the man was observed by a motorist walking on Warrnambool's Jamieson Street.
He approached Botanic Medical Specialists and threw something at the window of the clinic, causing it to smash.
He was then observed storming off towards Botanic Road.
At the time of the offending, the man was on three counts of bail for unrelated charges, including unlicensed driving and contravening a court order.
On April 7, he attended a protected person's place of work despite a court order prohibiting him from doing so.
And on June 3, he borrowed a friend's Toyota Camry sedan to drive to the shops and buy cigarettes despite not having a licence.
Magistrate Franz Holzer said if not for the man's guilty plea, he would have been jailed for 120 days.
