On Thursday, 20 students gathered at The Flume to plant trees as part of National Tree Day activities.
Warrnambool Coastcare Landcare chairman Bruce Campbell said COVID-19 restrictions meant National Tree Day plantings were being split into five days.
Thursday's was the fourth outing, with the final one to be held in the coming weeks.
He said the aim was to plant 2000 trees.
"Some of the students planted trees for the first time," Mr Campbell said.
"It was great for them to get their hands dirty and know they can come back in years to come with their children and see the tree grown."
