"It was a bit boring without it so it's good to have it back again."
Keast and his teammates are learning under legendary Hampden league coach Noel Mugavin.
"We've just been getting out of playing as juniors and sort of developing more into senior types of players," he said.
"We've learned a lot and we're focusing on things like swiching the play up and (tactics)."
North Warrnambool Eagles face off against Hamilton Kangaroos on Saturday.
The Bushfield-based club is ready for a tough encounter.
"I think it'll be a very tough game," Keast told The Standard.
"They'll have a few bigger bodies and it'll be a good challenge for us.
"I think we're playing all right, hopefully we can just keep improving."
Keast's teammate, Dylan McKenzie, said the side was keen to ensure clean disposal was on show.
"We're focusing on our ball movement to our forwards," he said.
"It's just been really good to be out there playing with my mates.
"There's a fair few of us that go to the same school but there's also a good mix."
North Warrnambool Eagles' under 16s fixture will kick off at 12.30pm at Bushfield Recreation Reserve.
