Portland District Health (PDH) chief executive Chris Giles confirmed another two positive cases of COVID-19 were uncovered at the PDH fever clinic, bringing the total to six.
"These cases are linked to the previously confirmed cases and resulting from the first case of COVID -19 reported in Portland who was a visitor from Melbourne with a legitimate reason to be in Portland," she said.
"Because these cases were identified as close contact they have been in home isolation and therefore it is not likely we will see any community transmission related to them.
"I know I repeatedly say this but it is very important that we all take this very seriously and be diligent in hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and physical distancing."
Ms Giles urged people to wear a mask or face covering if they're "out and about and are not able to maintain physical distancing".
"If you have even the mildest symptoms stay at home and ring the fever clinic at PDH on 5521 0387 to get tested," she said.
"We are all in this together so remember to be kind, respect everyone's need for privacy and be safe."
