The Kiwi club made the first big move of the league's free agency period by securing 25-year-old star Webster on a one-season contract.
He adds to the core of established Tall Blacks internationals on the Breakers roster and is expected to start alongside shooting guard and older sibling Corey Webster when the delayed NBL season begins in December.
Two Australians have also been snapped up with South East Melbourne Phoenix forward Dan Trist signed for a year and rising prospect Kyrin Galloway secured as a development player.
Galloway arrives from the University of North Carolina and will move into a contracted Breakers spot from next year.
Coach Dan Shamir said Tai Webster's signing instantly boosts his team's title hopes.
"I know for sure that every good team in the NBL tried to get Tai Webster during the last few years," Shamir said.
"To be able to add him is a huge step for us to be a contender."
Webster was a prominent performer for European giants Galatasaray but was left without a team when the Turkish season was cancelled by the coronavirus pandemic.
He worked out with the Breakers, the club he joined as a development player seven years ago.
"I was just grateful for that opportunity. That was something they didn't have to do," he said.
"There is a vast difference in the Breakers since I was last here, it's been a long time since I've been really involved in the club like this, and you can definitely see it's come a long way."
Breakers owner Matt Walsh said he will set his sights on filling the maximum two import slots and was hopeful of luring back 2019-20 star forward Scotty Hopson from the US.
