Peter Reid and his partner Nasiko took over the pub in December last year.
They were forced to close due to the coronavirus restrictions and despite taking no income from the hotel have been unable to access any government assistance.
Mr Reid said their initial application for assistance under the state government's business support fund was rejected.
However, he was elated to receive notification he would receive funding on Thursday afternoon after The Standard contacted the state government.
Mr Reid said it had been a tough time for the couple, but the community had ensured they knew support was available.
"I can't tell you how wonderful the locals are," Mr Reid said.
"They want the pub to reopen and they make it clear that they want to support us."
Mr Reid said the couple hoped to reopen soon.
"We've always been committed to reopening," he said.
Member for South West Coast Roma Britnell said she had spoken to a number of south-west business owners who had experienced issues trying to access support.
"I raised Peter's issue in the Parliament on Wednesday so it's nice to see someone was listening and has acted to fix up this mess. It's just a shame it has taken so long to any action."
Ms Britnell said she had been advocating for a number of businesses desperate for assistance for weeks.
"Business support packages should have been doing what they were intended to - support business through the pandemic," she said.
"Instead business owners were being tied up with endless red tape which created even more stress during an incredibly tough time.
"Small businesses shouldn't be left languishing for weeks on end, with their doors forced shut, waiting to know if they will be able to pay the bills.
"I'm pleased we have been able to get these grant approvals sorted out for the business owners across the south-west."
A state government spokesman said there had been a delay in processing the payment for the Yambuk Inn, which the government apologised for.
"We're backing regional businesses with payroll tax refunds, business support fund grants and tenancy relief."
"More than $55 million has been paid to eligible businesses in the south-west alone through the Business Support Fund and payroll tax refunds."
"We're backing businesses to help them to continue operating and maintain their workforce as best they can so they can rebound strongly on the other side of the pandemic."
