Moyne Shire Council has begun work on the latest stage of its Koroit Youth Space Plan.
The plan is focused on the area in and around the Koroit Skate Park.
This area is located across from the Koroit Railway Station and the Warrnambool to Port Fairy Rail Trail.
The precinct also includes a children's playground, an outdoor exercise circuit and a goods shed that is used by the friends of the rail trail group.
The works being undertaken by council are based around improving the intersection of Bourke Avenue and Station Street.
Moyne Shire director of infrastructure and Environment, Trev Greenberger, said the works would include
improved drainage, kerb and channel works, new road surfacing and a new concrete footpath.
Improved lighting and two raised road crossings will also be part of the project.
"The works are expected to take around six weeks and there will be changes to traffic in the area during this time," Mr Greenberger said.
