The South Warrnambool footballer and Dennington cricketer, a special guest on this week's The Main Break podcast, also talked about returning to training, his development into one of the best forwards in the league and the current state of one of his sports in the wake of the coronavirus.
Beks, who balances his winter playing football in the Hampden league and summer with cricket in the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association every year, expects to see more footballers taking up cricket this season.
"Why a lot of players are not playing cricket right now is because the demands of footy are so full on for nine months of the year," he said.

"As soon as footy season is over not many blokes are keen to launch into cricket straight away and they want to have a bit of a spell, which is fair enough.
"So if you don't have the footy season finishing up in late September and you have guys who haven't played a sport in 12 months I'd think there will definitely be a fair few more keen to have a go at cricket and get that competitive edge back."
Beks said he would be in the ears of some of his South Warrnambool teammates and helping the Dogs pick up as many players as they could for the 2020-21 WDCA season.
"I have a few mates who haven't played cricket in a while and it sounds like they are pretty keen," he said.
"But you never really know. A lot of blokes say they will play cricket and then by the time cricket season comes around they won't but this year will obviously be a bit different.
"Hopefully we can try and recruit a few and get a good crew going out there and cricket will be really enjoyable if you have good people around you."
Beks and his Dennington division one teammates finished the 2019-20 WDCA season in ninth place. They also collected the competition's twenty20 title as well.
The 22-year-old said he would immediately switch his focus from preparing for footy to cricket if the 2020 Hampden league season was eventually called off.
