It is believed to have been a false alarm.
Warrnambool fire brigade members reported that they have been relatively quiet during the past couple of months of the coronavirus pandemic.
They are often called out to false alarms at aged care homes, hospitals and the Deakin University Warrnambool campus.
There have been a number of large controlled burns being conducted across the south-west in the past couple of weeks after fire restrictions were lifted.
