Aussie representative and Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles took questions from south-west fans via Zoom on Saturday morning.
Warrnambool Junior Basketball (WJB) facilitated the session and has shared the interview on its Facebook page for anyone to view.
Development officer Mike McGorm described it as a huge coup for the south-west.
"In terms of basketball and Australia, I don't think it gets much than Joe Ingles wanting to spend time with Warrnambool people," he said.
McGorm said the National Basketball Association star answered every question in depth all the way from Utah in the United States.

McGorm was able to get Ingles involved thanks to the help of one of his basketball contacts.
The session came after the success of WJB's virtual interview with South East Melbourne Phoenix star Mitch Creek earlier this month.
He played for the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves in NBA.
McGorm said he received many text messages saying how well that chat with Creek went.
The development officer said both Ingles and Creek worked hard to get to the NBA and they were a great example for young players.
He said hearing from them helps youngsters realise how hard they have to work if they want to achieve their goals.
