The long-serving committee member said the club was waiting on advice from the government and Basketball Australia and Victoria on when they can return to normal.
"It's still very early days for sport, basketball and community sports," he said.
"We are still waiting for more info from Basketball Victoria with how to implement COVID-19 safe environments from a basketball standpoint.
"We are working through that and waiting on when we get the go ahead with restrictions, which could be a fair while away.
"We are preparing as a board and wider community for if and when it does comes back for us to have a safe environment."
Basketball Victoria has suspended 2020 Autumn and Winter 2020 domestic basketball seasons until at least May 31.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Friday a three-stage plan for the country and sport to return to post-coronavirus normality.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced that outdoor gatherings of 10 would be allowed on Wednesday but both have not mentioned about indoor sports such as basketball.
Basketball Victoria released its draft return to sport guidelines on Friday.
The document outlines risk management strategies to enable basketball to return at various levels of restriction including, the flow of traffic in and out of venues, time restrictions, compulsory cleaning, sanitation and restrictions on players, officials and parents per court.
Basketball Victoria strongly believes indoor sports should be reactivated at the same time as outdoor sports.
It has proactively developed the guidelines to demonstrate to government and its member clubs that it has the ability to provide a safe and controlled environment for a return to participation.
Basketball Victoria has also given clubs and associations the option to opt out of the 2020 Big V season.
Sobey said the club would discuss whether Warrnambool Seahawks and Mermaids division one men's and women's teams will play in their respective competitions this season in the coming weeks.
